About Us

We are a small, passionate, Chicago-based organization that believes in the healing power of music. Sharing Notes musicians have been performing in Chicago hospitals since 2012, with nearly 700 performances given to date. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our virtual bedside concerts allow patients to connect with musicians over FaceTime or Zoom, to request a song, enjoy a conversation or simply listen to music (see images below!).

Our goal is to improve the quality of life for Chicago hospital patients through live music. We fulfill our mission through the following three actions:

1. Perform intimate and engaging virtual and live performances for patients, hospital staff, and families.

2. Communicate actively to ensure successful patient musical visits before and after each event with hospital staff including administrators, nurses, child life specialists, chaplains, and social workers.

3. Empower our volunteer musicians with unique, specialized training and experience in community engagement performance to give them the confidence and skills they need to meaningfully connect with their hospital audience.
